Album of the week: Duran Duran “All You Need Is Now”

Wow, what a highlight before the year is closing. Our last “album of the week” for this year comes from 80`s heroes Duran Duran. They are back with a brand new album called “All You Need Is Now”, damn right guys.  Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor got together with producer Mark Ronson. Together they produced this new album which is available in digital format with 9 brand new songs from today and the physical album will come in February 2011 with a couple of more songs.

It`s so good to hear Simon Le Bon`s voice again, the typical Duran Duran sound transported into 2010 is perfectly done. Listen to songs like “All You Need Is Now”, “Being Followed”, “Leave A Light On” and “Girl Panic”, so you know what i mean. On “Safe (In The Heart Of The Moment)”, Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters is featured on vocals and on the funny “The Man Who Stole A Leopard” you can hear Kelis.

What a great xmas present, thanxs guys! It`s their best album since “Rio”!

Scissor Sisters video for “Invisible Light”

The Scissor Sisters just finished their sold out UK tour with Hurts supporting them. Now the band has released the video for the next single from “Night Work”, this time the great “Invisible Light”, one of the best tracks from the latest album.

Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy and Del Marquis had to cancel the rest of the European tour cos of problems to finance the tour which was really sad, hopefully they will return to Europe playing live soon.

Jake Shears is now working on the “Tales Of The City” musical, based on the books by Armistad Maupin, which will premiere in June 2011 in San Francisco.

Jessie J wins Critics Choice Award!

She is someone to watch out for in 2011 and now Jessie J from Essex has been picked for the BPI Critic`s Choice Award for 2011. Winners before were Adele, Florence And The Machine and Ellie Goulding. So, this a very good sign, cos all of them have been very successful the last years.

Jessie had a single out in the UK, called “Do It Like A Dude”, which went to number 25 in the charts. Her debut album “Who You Are” will be out in March 2011, before that she is gonna release her new single “Price Tag”. She has a great voice, is very handsome and talented and a cool artist.

This years UK X-factor winner is Matt Cardle, who won last Sunday and presented his first single “When We Collide”. Baptiste Giabiconi releases his first single “Showtime”

We all know him, cos he is one of the most successful male models around the globe and the muse of Karl Lagerfeld. As a lot of models tried it before, Baptiste wants to be a singer and is releasing his first single “Showtime”. His debut album is coming out in March 2011. He is not the best singer but the video looks rather expensive and the song is not that bad. Seems Karl gave some money to shoot a proper video.

Have a look yourself, at least Baptiste is nice to watch, but if there will be another career for him, i really doubt.

Adele releases video for “Rolling In The Deep”

The fantastic singer Adele from the UK is back with her first single “Rolling In The Deep” from her second album “21”, which will be released on January, 21st in the UK. Most of the album was recorded in Malibu with producer legend Rick Rubin and back in London, Adele worked with Paul Epworth.

2008 Adele seemed to came ot of nowhere and released her highly recommended debut album “19”. She has a fantastic voice and is an excellent songwriter. She got several Grammy awards and music awards for her debut, which went to number 1 in the UK album charts.

The new single is typical excellent stuff from Adele. After she released a video with some nice clips from the recording studio in Malibu, California, Adele now released the official video to this fantastic song:
