Album of the week: Duran Duran “All You Need Is Now”

2010/12/21

Wow, what a highlight before the year is closing. Our last “album of the week” for this year comes from 80`s heroes Duran Duran. They are back with a brand new album called “All You Need Is Now”, damn right guys.  Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor got together with producer Mark Ronson. Together they produced this new album which is available in digital format with 9 brand new songs from today and the physical album will come in February 2011 with a couple of more songs.

It`s so good to hear Simon Le Bon`s voice again, the typical Duran Duran sound transported into 2010 is perfectly done. Listen to songs like “All You Need Is Now”, “Being Followed”, “Leave A Light On” and “Girl Panic”, so you know what i mean. On “Safe (In The Heart Of The Moment)”, Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters is featured on vocals and on the funny “The Man Who Stole A Leopard” you can hear Kelis.

What a great xmas present, thanxs guys! It`s their best album since “Rio”!

Baptiste Giabiconi releases his first single “Showtime”

2010/12/09

We all know him, cos he is one of the most successful male models around the globe and the muse of Karl Lagerfeld. As a lot of models tried it before, Baptiste wants to be a singer and is releasing his first single “Showtime”. His debut album is coming out in March 2011. He is not the best singer but the video looks rather expensive and the song is not that bad. Seems Karl gave some money to shoot a proper video.

Have a look yourself, at least Baptiste is nice to watch, but if there will be another career for him, i really doubt.

Album of the week: Natasha Bedingfield “Strip Me”

2010/12/07

Another highlight before the year 2010 is coming to an end, is the new long awaited album from british singer Natasha Bedingfield.

Bedingfield (originally from New Zealand, raised in Britain) has been very successful the last years. She released two fantastic albums, “Unwritten” and “N.B.”, both big sellers.  She did even conquer the US and is the only british singer after Kim Wilde (“You Keep Me Hangin´On”), who stormed the US charts  and had a number 1 hit. Natasha got several music awards and a Grammy nomination.

Natasha did work a lot in the US the last year and worked with musicians like Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Brian Kennedy (Rihanna), Wyclef Jean, Sam Sparro, Kevin Rudolph and lots of other talented people for the new record. Besides the great single “Strip Me”, Natasha convinces with her great voice and very strong pop songs like “Little Too Much”, “Weightless”, “Touch”, “No Mozart” and the fantastic ballads “Break Thru” and “Recover”. Great step forward for Natasha, more up-tempo songs with more beats than on her former records. And always her beautiful voice in the centre of the songs which has a high recogniton value.

Natasha is doing lots of TV appearances this week in the US like the Today show (today), Regis&Kelly (tomorrow) and Jay Leno on Thursday.
